Aren’t we too early?

As an owner, you have often noticed that your pet has been deteriorating for a long time. 

I am often asked whether it is the right decision, if it’s not too early, what I would do if it was my own dog or cat?

I assume that everyone will make a well-considered choice, not only based on indicators that are important to him or her, but above all out of love for your pet. As an owner, you know your own animal best. What I think is important is that we ensure that life does not become a suffering. An animal has no sense of time, but it does understand discomfort and suffering. Suffering is not only having pain, but also when the body no longer cooperates (falling over, continuous nausea, being unable to find peace). As humans we can understand such situations, but an animal does not understand. For me personally, a solid point of reference, when no further progress can be expected, I would rather make the choice a week too early than an hour too late.
